Hey guys! I'm sorry this is going up while a lot of you are down at AX; I would've like to have gotten it up earlier, but my job had other plans...

Anyways, details! Under the cut, you will find directions to the gathering, including convenient bus stops and walking routes, more details on getting there, a list of people who are driving from what areas, and a list of who is planning on bringing what foods.

What I'd like you guys to do is comment with what food/drinks/utensils you feel comfortable bringing, hopefully based off of what we've already got, as well as if you need to ride with one of the people listed as a driver, so that they know what to do the day of.

What: Nor-Cal Hetalia Picnic! :D
When: Saturday, July 11th, 12PM-7PM (you do not have to stay the whole time; this is mostly going off of how long the last picnic lasted)
Where: Speedway Meadows, Golden Gate Park (directions and map under cut)
Who: Anyone who sees this post and can make it! If you want to be in cosplay, excellent, if not, just as cool.
Extra: Potluck lunch! Please bring a dish to share! :D

First off, directions! We're going to hold the main picnic at the East end of Speedway Meadows, which if you look at a map of GGP, is the large, open, grassy area to the right of the Equestrian Stadium. (as our other choice was Lindley Meadow, which is where all my cross-country meets were held. Plus, Speedway's lake is a little more Hetalia picture-friendly)

Coming by bus, you should get off around 25th Ave. Buses that go there are the 5, 29 (cross street Fulton), 38, 2, 31, and 31AX (cross street Balboa)

Coming by car (To Fulton St; all directions from Fulton are the same; 280 people, you have things a little different, see below):
From I-80 West: Get across the Bay Bridge, and merge onto 101 North. Keep straight on 101 North, and head towards Fell St/Octavia. Merge onto Octavia, then turn left on Fell St. Go along Fell, then turn right on Shrader (there'll be a little fork in the road right ahead of you along Fell. If you pass this, you've gone too far). Turn left onto Fulton.

From 101 South: Cross the Golden Gate Bridge, and take the 19th Avenue exit. Continue down 19th forever until you dead-end into Fulton right before the park. Turn right onto Fulton.

Take Fulton, and turn on 25th Ave into the park. Take the slight right onto Transverse Dr. Continue unill you get to Kennedy Drive, and turn right. There should be street parking along both sides of the street. If you get to the fork in the road, go back along Kennedy the other way until you can find parking. (I would very much advise against parking in the parking lots for the De Young and other places; for one, they are a far walk away, two, they are very expensive. No need to when there is free parking along the street. I don't expect it should be too hard to find parking, but you never know.)

From I-280 North: Take 280 until you get see signs to Hwy 1. Merge onto Hwy 1, follow signs for 19th Ave. At some point in time, go over to the left and go up 25th Ave. Continue on 25th until it dead-ends into Martin Luther King Jr. Dr./South Dr. and turn right. Turn left on Transverse Dr, which will be right before the intersection with Crossover and the big gates to the park. Take Transverse through the park until you hit Kennedy, then turn left. There should be street parking along both sides of the street.

I will be arriving a little early to set up, and hopefully, I'll be able to get some sort of markers (flags, perhaps~) that will pinpoint where along Kennedy we'll be. It should be fairly obvious once we get a lot of people, but for you early-comers, I'll try to make it as clear as possible.

Drivers! We have a bunch of drivers coming down I-80, so if you're along there and need a ride, you're in luck! If you'd like to get a space with the driver, please comment, and try to arrange details with them.
I-80 Drivers:
napkins: I have four spaces in my car as long as food and everything can go in the trunk. I will be going in a little early, so anyone who wants to help me set up is more than welcome to ride with me. I will be coming from Hercules, so basically, anywhere between this side of the Carquinez Bridge and GGP I can pick up from. I can also pick up from BART stations in the city.

bisouspapillon: Can take six people from BART stations (would prefer just one BART station, but you can work details out with her), and may be negotiable for picking up across the bridge.

curiko: Coming down I-80 from Richmond, so can pick up people from that area/along I-80, or from BART stations.

antieden: Driving from Sacramento, and is willing to pick up people in the area, or along I-80 going down towards San Francisco.

San Jose/South Bay:
We actually don't have any people who have volunteered to drive, but there are some people in the area who have expressed want to go. I can help with working out routes to a BART station if you guys would like, because I'd love for you all to be able to make it!

Those of you who haven't told me what you'd like to bring, please take a look at this list and bring whatever you'd like/would be easiest for you based on this list.

We have at least one vegetarian, as well as some nut and fish allergies, so if you're planning on bringing a dish with these ingredients, please announce it beforehand at the picnic.

Entrees:
hoshiko2: Sandwich platter
napkins: Lasagna
bisouspapillon: Baguette and sandwich ingredients

Desserts:
: Sugar cookies
kittyriku: Butterscotch brownies
sailorsirius: Cinnamon rolls
hani_tastic: Brownies
napkins: Cream puffs and a secret surprise~

Drinks:
kt_lovely341
[Bad username: napkins:]: sodas

And remember! Food you bring doesn't have to be really complex; you can bring whatever you'd like to; it doesn't have to be homemade or anything; anything you want to bring will be welcome!

We also will need someone to bring utensils, cups, plates, napkins and such. (I-I should probably bring napkins, huh). I can search our stash and bring what I find, though if you want to bring your own amenities so as not to create a lot of trash, that'd be great too.

If you guys have seen this post and thought it was a good idea, hopefully you wondered if we'd be trying to do it at this gathering. As a huge fan of the original video, I think it could be an incredibly sweet video, and I'd love for you guys to have the opportunity to be part of it in GGP! I think we'll have plenty of cameras, so that won't be a problem. Exact details for how it'll be accomplished will be worked out at the picnic, but just keep it in mind if you'd like to participate~

I'm really excited for this, and I hope you guys are too, and I hope this will go well! <3
